Ask any kid about which is the most favorite time he is looking forward to very eagerly. Without batting an eyelid will come the reply is the summer time, of course next to Christmas. There is lot of buzz around things that can be done in the summer time. Realizing this there is lot of clubs and organizations that has come with lot of summer activities for kids. If chosen carefully these activities will help the kid to spend their summer engrossed in various activities at the time learns about the benefits of working in groups and come close to the nature.
Summer camps are synonym with summer activities for kids. The kids will get a chance to move away from the concrete jungles to the green pastures in some urban area, where the kids can breathe the fresh air. Assembling at a common place, travelling together to the camping site, selecting an ideal site to pitch the tent, carrying out the designated work in groups, campfires and a chance to know kids from other schools are the benefits from camping out in summer time. This will also give the kid an opportunity to know about the bounty of the nature that has in store for the human beings like the river that brings water, earth that provides trees, plants which we depend for food etc.
For less adventurous kids; you may be surprised but there are kids who will pursue a quiet summer, there are activities that will improve the artistic talents in them such as drawing, clay modeling. NGO’s and some Clubs are taking initiative to conduct some workshops by bringing in the best talent in the related field and demonstrating the simple techniques that will help the beginner who have a flair in drawing, clay modeling and sculpturing.
It is a very good sign that some of the organizations are giving emphasis in the literary field by conducting short courses like appreciation of good Reading, Writing skills in poetry and stories. Bringing in some famous personalities who has excelled in the field and giving the budding youngsters the way to appreciate good writing and some tips for those who want to wield their pen is a very welcome sign. When there is a definite need of uplift in the reading and writing skills of the youngsters, this activity is a welcome change.
Another summer activity for the kids is to engage in some social activities that will create awareness by spreading the message of going eco-friendly, recycling materials, the necessity of using less plastic and a safe way to dispose them. Organizations are giving very much importance to these social issues through road shows and short films.
Summer activities for kids are useful in bringing a sense of responsibility to the child by utilizing the time constructively by taking part in social events. The kids will learn about the nature, benefit in working in groups and the necessity of utilizing the earth resources sparingly to the best possible extent and recycling whenever possible.
